A dialup account can be used to connect to the
internet using analogue modem or digital ISDN. Our
business quality dialup internet access is provided
using our own equipment and infrastructure, you
connect directly to our uncontended network
ensuring lightning fast access to your email and
the internet. Access is provided via a local rate
(0845) telephone number, your connect time being
billed to you by your existing telephony provider
at their local call rate.
Dialup accounts can be created and configured
using the Dialup
page.
Creating A Dialup
Account
To create a dialup account click 'Create Dialup
Account' on the Dialup
page. On the following screen enter the username
for the account which should be no more than 20
characters long and may consist of lower case
letters, numbers, '.' and '_' only. The dialup
account name will be prefixed by the main account
user name. Enter a password to be used to access
this dialup account which should be between 5 and
20 characters long and may consist of letters and
numbers only. Click 'Create Dialup Account' to
create the dialup account on the system.
Changing A Dialup
Account Password
To change the password that is used to access a
dialup account, click the 'Change Password' link
corresponding to the account in the listing on the
Dialup page. Enter a
new password which should be between 5 and 20
characters long and may consist of letters and
numbers only. Click 'Change Password' to update the
dialup account password.
Deleting A Dialup
Account
To delete a dialup account, click the 'Delete' link
corresponding to the account in the listing on the
Dialup page. You will
be asked to confirm this action before the account
is actually deleted. On confirmation the dialup
account will be erased from the system.
Connecting To A Dialup
Account
To use a dialup account to connect to our network
and the Internet, you will need to configure your
computer to dial into our servers. You can
automatically configure dialup networking on your
computer by downloading the dialup settings file
from the Dialup page.
Alternatively you can manually configure dialup
networking with the following settings:

creating the dialup account

DNS Servers
|
You should not normally specify DNS
servers and instead allow our servers to
assign them when you connect, however if
your system configuration demands that you
specify DNS servers, use:

How you configure these settings for your
computer will vary slightly depending upon which
operating system you are using. Consult the
documentation that came with your computer for more
information.
